This rollout, which covers the five health districts of Mbengue, <strong>Korhogo 1, Korhogo 2, Sin\u00e9matiali, et Dikodougou,<\/strong> represents a significant step forward in the digital transformation of the country's community healthcare system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1079\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mhealth-africa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Deploiement-de-mhealth-africa-en-Cote-divoire_.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5773\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A two-stage training programme: nurses and nursing assistants at the heart of the system<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure smooth and effective adoption of mHealth, implementation began with a two-stage training programme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>1. Training of registered nurses<\/strong> : Nurses have been trained on their specific tool as well as on the tools intended for Community Health Workers (CHWs). This dual skill set enables nurses to supervise CHWs while using mHealth to manage inputs, supervise care, and ensure real-time data reporting via the Monitor interface.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1385\" height=\"623\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mhealth-africa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Deploiement-de-mhealth-africa-en-Cote-divoire-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5772\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>2. Training of ASCs by registered nurses<\/strong> : In a second phase, the IDEs themselves trained the ASCs, thereby strengthening their skills in household census-taking, prenatal and postnatal monitoring, vaccination, and medical input management. This participatory approach helped to strengthen local capacities and ensure full ownership of the platform by end users.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"728\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mhealth-africa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Deploiement-de-mhealth-africa-en-Cote-divoire-3-_.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5774\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Impressive results after only two weeks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just two weeks after going live, the initial results demonstrate the impact of mHealth in the five health districts of Poro:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Over 20,000 households surveyed<\/strong> : Impressive fieldwork carried out by ASCs, providing an essential database for planning health interventions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Over 13,000 children under the age of 5 registered<\/strong> : Enabling accurate tracking of vaccinations and paediatric care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Over 1,200 pregnant women enrolled<\/strong> : Ensuring prenatal and postnatal care, with particular attention paid to remote areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>These results confirm the effectiveness of mHealth in strengthening community health by collecting reliable data and optimising care for vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A digital revolution serving public health<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>mHealth stands out for its adaptability and technical robustness:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Offline operation<\/strong> : Enables use in areas with poor connectivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Interoperability with DHIS2 <\/strong>: The data collected is directly integrated into the national system, providing real-time visibility on public health indicators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Modular approach<\/strong> Modules for census taking, input management, vaccination campaigns, and patient follow-up enable holistic management of community needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Next steps and outlook<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The long-term goal is to expand mHealth to other regions of the country, capitalising on the lessons learned from this first phase in Poro.
